Scorecards are not dashboards (and that is the point)
A dashboard invites exploration: filters, drill-downs, curiosity. A KPI scorecard invites accountability: a fixed set of outcomes, clear thresholds, and a review ritual.
When teams paste a live dashboard into a leadership meeting, they import exploration into a decision forum. Someone always finds a new cut. The meeting never closes.
Use dashboards for investigation between reviews. Bring a scorecard—often a static export with commentary—into the room. If a red cell needs diagnosis, assign the investigation; do not perform it live unless the answer is already prepared.
