Long slide decks rarely survive the first hotfix. Engineers need a living document with event names, triggers, property types, and the privacy flags that block certain fields from shipping.
Place the happy path first: the ten events that answer core product questions. Put experimental or seasonal events in an appendix so they do not clutter the main dictionary.
Include a “change protocol” section: who approves new events, where the pull request should link, and how staging validation is recorded. Without that ritual, taxonomy drift returns within a quarter.
Add screenshots of consent states next to the activation rules. Words alone leave too much room for interpretation across platforms.
Finally, schedule a 45-minute read-through with the people who will own the code. A measurement plan that nobody has walked through is only a draft.
